Haiti Onward partners and collaborators include an array of leading local and international organizations and businesses focused on delivering expertise and outcomes in support of the Haiti Onward mission. Each of these organizations is committed to a sustainable economic development approach that leverages their respective resources, talents and tools, while honoring the economic and cultural anthropology of Haiti; the latter being mandatory criterion for inclusion.
Collaborating Partner Descriptions
ALIVE Communities is the lead design and orchestration partner for Haiti Onward and the Innovation HUB for Sustainability project and is responsible for the development of the collaborative platform, orchestration of strategic operations and oversees community asset mapping and project implementation. It is also responsible for identifying project partners, managing collaborative relations, developing revenue strategies and overseeing communications.
Architecture for Humanity is a nonprofit design services firm founded in 1999. The Haiti Architecture for Humanity Team collaborates with local professionals, educational institutions and other NGOs. Architecture for Humanity Haiti will provide training to professionals and building owners to HUB project participants.
Center for Mind-Body Medicine (CMBM), founded in 1991, is a non-profit, 501(c) (3), educational organization dedicated to reviving the spirit and transforming the practice of medicine. The Center’s model combines the precision of modern science with the wisdom of the world’s healing traditions, to help health professionals heal themselves, their patients and clients, and their communities. CMBM has been providing comprehensive post traumatic stress relief and training in Haiti and will serve as the PTSD holistic training center for the HUB.
Connective is an ecosystem of visionaries harnessing pattern breaking innovations to create a more positive future, maximize impact, and disrupt the status quo. Connective serves as networking and vetting tool by which potential HUB collaborators are identified and evaluated.
Earthos Instituteis a non profit organization that links science and research with local action for sustainable outcomes. Earthos provides HaitiOnward with access to an expansive network of scientists, researchers and academic professionals and will conduct resource mapping and biodiversity studies of the Central Plateau where the HUB is located.
Fonkoze is a leading micro-financial institution in Haiti, founded in1994, which utilizes a whole systems model to provide pathways out of poverty through entrepreneurship financing and training. Fonkoze will provide micro finance business funding opportunities to the HUB project participants.
GeneroCity is a company, a cause and a community in which partnerships with philanthropists, social entrepreneurs and corporations identifies, incubates and connects high-impact initiatives and enterprises with financing and GeneroCity assets including Mayacamas Ranch and MediaOne. Generocity will provide video productions and storytelling services through Media One as well as fundraising events at Mayacamas Ranch.
GiveLove Haiti has been working in Haiti since the 2010 earthquake to promote eco-sanitation and composting through training, technical support and environmental education. GiveLove Haiti provides outreach and extension to schools, farming communities, and NGOs to encourage nutrient recycling, soil building and improved health and livelihoods through eco-sanitation. GiveLove Haiti will serve as the lead eco-sanitation and composting expert for the HUB.
Grass Roots United is a nonprofit with more than 20 years of combined post-disaster relief and rebuilding experience around the world. GrassRoots United (GRU) facilitates connections and capacity building among small local and international organizations – GRU will serve as the central resource aggregator and distributor for the development of the HUB.
Haitian Fund for Innovation and Reconstruction’s (HFIR) goal is to strengthen Haiti’s public and nonprofit sectors and support a democratic and sustainable long-term rebuilding. By engaging the Diaspora and other partners, the Fund aims to leverage the collective capacity of Haitians on the ground and those living abroad to lay the groundwork for efforts that will establish jobs and services, address immediate and long-term health needs and train those who will lead local organizations. HFIR is the land steward of the Innovation HUB site in partnership with the Haitian League and provides operating and investment capital for the project.
The Haitian League was founded in 2003. The League’s mission is to establish a network to empower the Haitian Diaspora to adapt to the fabric of their adopted countries, achieve economic self-reliance, civil rights, health parity, and civic responsibilities, while orchestrating resources for Haiti to develop it long term sustainability.The Haitian League is the land lease holder for the 300+ acre parcel that will house the Innovation HUB.
iScale is a global network of expert practitioners, action researchers and thought leaders committed to developing, promoting, applying, and sharing social change innovations to scale the impact of efforts to address the world’s most pressing challenges. iScale is a leader in advancing the effectiveness of social change efforts through process, methodological and technological innovations. iScale will provide measurement and accountability reporting tools for the HUB.
Kleiwerks International is a nonprofit organization founded in 1998 and a global network of innovative design specialists using natural building technologies to train local leaders, conduct hands-on projects, and advocate for sustainable solutions that meet people’s basic needs and restore human dignity. Kleiwerks International will provide key curriculum components for HUB workforce training.
LifeGivingForce LLC (LGF) is a social enterprise of experts in carbon neutral, off grid water system technologies. LifeGivingForce Foundation is a non-profit foundation delivering life-saving water and economic development through social and economic development programs in Haiti.
LGF will provide renewable energy powered technologies and economic development training services to the HUB.
Nouvelle Vie Haiti Youth Corps is a project of the International Association for Human Values (IAHV) and founded in 1997, is an international humanitarian and educational NGO that integrates leadership development rooted in human values with environmental, social, and economic transformation. Since 2007, IAHV has developed 350 youth leaders trained in ecological design and social entrepreneurship in 5 regions of Haiti. Nouvelle vie Youth Corps will provide youth leadership and permaculture training through the HUB.One Global Economy (OGE) is a global non-profit organization founded in 2000 that leverages the power of technology and connects under-served communities around the world to information technology solutions by facilitating broadband adoption, providing affordable Internet access and digital literacy training and relevant online resources. OGE will provide social networking technology and connectivity training tools for the HUB.
The Social Venture Network (SVN), founded in 1987, is an active network of 500 business leaders and social entrepreneurs who explore and expand practices that build a just and sustainable economy. SVN members will be engaged in providing mentorship, sustainable business best practices and impact investing strategies that will further the vision of the HUB and its graduates.
Your Olive Branch (YOBO): a non-profit organization focused on furthering peace and sustainability through its online social networking and positive news portal site that distributes positive news stories from around the world and connects people to positive, sustainable solutions and community-based action. Your Olive Branch (yobo) serves Haiti Onward as a technology partner and fiscal sponsor.
